How to get certified copies from court.
In this blog, I will be sharing the practical knowledge of How we get certified copies of orders or other documents from the district court. Law interns while their starting days of internship are unaware of this procedure, so in this blog I will share practical knowledge that will be helpful for you in court during your internship days.
What are certified copies?
Certified copies are official copies of documents having the seal and stamp of court. These copies are attested to be true and accurate replicas of the original documents held by the court. Certified copies are often required for legal proceedings, as they carry the same validity and credibility as the original documents. Certified copies are used for execution of order, certified copies of judgments or orders are necessary when filing an appeal in a higher court.They serve as admissible evidence in court.
What is procedure for getting copies certified from court.
1. You have to write/draft an application, format of application is given below, where, at the top of application you write Name of Court, then name of parties, Subject of application and documents you are seeking from court in certified form.
2. Get a rs.5 court fee, earlier lawyers use to attach a ticket with the application, now, there is an option of eCourt fee which you get from photocopies section in court premises.
3. Third step is get this application signed from concerned Judge. From whose court you are seeking the documents.
4. Fourth step is, submit the application in Copying section of that court, they will inform you about when you can get the certified copies and plus what would be the fees for those copies.
5. Fifth step is when you again visit to the copying section as time given by them, you have to submit them eCourt fee that varies from state to state, let's take example if the fee is rs.10 /page and, the orders you are seeking certified from court is of 10 pages you have to submit fee of 100 rupees to the copying section. They will then give you copies of certified orders.

A, S/o B, V/s. Z, S/o x
And in the matter of :- An application for issuance of certified copies :-
(i) Of order dated 06-04-2023 in the above mentioned title case.
(ii) Certified copy of plaint in the above mentioned titled case.
(iii) Certified copy of final order in the above mentioned titled case.
